Green Troca shells (Tectus fenestratus) or similar are natural conical spiral shells that feature spiral, textured ridges with colors in green, brown, white, and grey, measuring typically 3-6 cm. These particular shells are classed as large and will measure between 3 - 5cm with an opening of about 2 - 3cm.
Natural seashells that are great for offering Hermit Crabs new homes. In an established healthy aquarium there should always be a good selection of shells in the aquarium that are bigger than the occupied hermit crab shells.
Hermit Crabs regularly outgrow their current shell and will need a good choice of available shells in order to grow and facilitate the crab as it sheds and requires a larger shell.
Different types of Hermit Crabs will prefer different types of shell, so it's always a good idea to have a good variety of shells and sizes available.
