1 x White moon shell (medium)
White moon shells belong to the Naticidae family of predatory marine sea snails that burrow in sandy seabeds worldwide.
They feature a smooth, rounded, porcelain-like or crescent-shaped shell with a glossy finish.
Hermit crabs such as the orange leg hermit crab are naturally drawn to round-aperture shells like moon shells.
These size are approximately 3cm with an opening of about 2 cm.
Moon shells feature rounded, smooth openings that let a hermit crab withdraw comfortably without scratching its soft abdomen and offer great durability without being overly heavy for the crab to carry.
Hermit crabs regularly change their shells as they grow, and some will prefer a certain type of shell over others, therefore it's a good idea to have a selection of shells available of varying shapes and sizes.
